Launching in 2020: GREEN BUILD Zone

New at Energy Efficiency Expo, a dedicated GREEN BUILD Zone will be added to this year's exhibition floor to cater to the needs of professionals looking to improve energy performance and reduce emissions of commercial and residential buildings. With buildings accounting for over 50% of electricity use in Australia and almost a quarter of its emissions1, implementing a sustainable design in buildings plays an important role in reducing energy costs.

Why launch a new zone?

When it comes to energy efficiency and policy, Australia is ranked the worst-performing major developed country.2 One of the largest estimated energy savings can be made within the residential sector.

Energy efficiency measures in buildings could deliver $20 billion in financial savings for businesses and households by 2030.3

Cost-effective energy efficiency opportunities could cut average energy consumption of buildings by more than one quarter by 2030 and over half by 2050.4

Homes with higher energy efficiency rating can sell for as much as 10% more.5
